In 1932, it was renamed the Gansu Provincial Library, and in 1942, it became the Gansu Provincial Lanzhou Library. In 1944, the National Northwest Library was founded. In October 1949, the two libraries merged to form the Lanzhou People's Library, and in 1953, it was renamed the Gansu Provincial Library.ShareAs of May 2019, the Gansu Provincial Library had a total building area of 62,000 square meters, with 18 institutional departments and 211 staff members. Its collection exceeded 4.6 million volumes, including 380,000 volumes of ancient and rare books, and its digital resources amounted to 60TB.
